Job Title: Team Leader, Outpatient Psychiatric Services

FLSA:  Exempt

Reports To: Supervisor, Outpatient Psychiatric Services

Department: Behavioral Health Services

Summary:

The Team Leader is a first-level leadership position that supports the Outpatient Supervisor with administrative or clinical tasksto promote success within the program.  This role is combined with a position that requires completion of billable time. The Team Leader may assist with organizing assignments for staff, auditing clinical documentation, resolving crisis and conflict situations, providing clinical support, and developing positive relationships with staff and customers. .

Duties and Responsibilities: 

An Outpatient Team Leader should be prepared to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain billable time within the clinic (individual, family or group therapy).As required by regulations and treatment needs, complete file documentation and individualized treatment plans with each client and family that includes counseling and behavioral objectives and goals.

  • In collaboration with the Supervisor, provide leadership to the team, conduct staff

Depending on office needs, Team Leader may be required to complete the following duties: Hold meetings and supervisory sessions, and supports staff in maintaining compliance with contract and agency requirements.

  1. Identifies staffing needs, assists in hiring new staff.

  1. Manages staff, including performance coaching or corrective counseling, as needed. 

  1. Coordinates staff activities and assignments; clarifies roles and responsibilities; ensures completion of all team assignments and tasks; Seek answers or problem-solve as necessary.

  1. Provide on-site individual and group supervision for Therapists. 

  1. Promote understanding of evidence based therapeutic interventions 

  1. Provide support to front desk staff as needed. 

  • Operational duties such as review and development of treatment plan, progress notes outcomes measures and encounter forms. Update psychiatrist only treatment plans.Complete monthly internal audits and address quality improvement plans. 

  • Collaborate with school officials when needed for interviews and meetings in related to Outpatient Services in schools. 

  • Acts as a liaison for the program. Works collaboratively and develops cooperative relationships with school districts, community and referring agencies; performs marketing and public relations activities;

  • Understands, communicates, and reinforces the organization's core values and mission, and assists the organization in striving to achieve its vision, mission and goals. 

  • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by attending all required meetings, trainings and organizational trainings. 

  • Work as a positive team member, consistently working in a trusting and cooperative manner with fellow team members and supporting the team's common operating approach. 

  • Accepts professional responsibility and serves as a role model for positive, pro-social behavior; modeling respect, responsibility, integrity, empathy, impulse control, emotional self-awareness, and professional boundaries. 

  • Maintain an active valid driver's license issued by state in which they reside and must immediately notify their supervisor or Human Resources if their license is suspended or revoked for any reason.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Agreement Requirements:

  • A full day for a salaried position is a minimum of 7.5 hours per day. Start and end times for the employee may vary.?

  • Employees are expected to maintain billable requirement as outlined in job offer

  • Employees are expected to comply with all conditions and requirements of the Employee Handbook and any amendments thereto shall remain in effect.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a clinical area required.

  • Licensure is preferred; i.e.Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Certified Addictions Counselor.

Work Experience:

Three years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a clinical setting is preferred. 

Skills:

Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop effective and meaningful relationships with clients.  Must be able to remain calm in a crisis situation, identify underlying causes of problem situations, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate potentially explosive situations.  Must be a team player.
