The PA Certified Teacher will become part of a team including a therapist and in-class behavior coach.

In addition to the details and requirements for the employee listed below, Laurel Life expects the employee to be committed to incorporating principles of trauma informed care in all areas of service delivery. Commitment to these principles in trauma treatment will be required through attendance in trainings and use of identified evidence-based practices. Trauma informed care includes cultural sensitivity and emphasizes a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff.

We are currently seeking a PA Certified Secondary Teacher (4-8, 7-12) in our Huntingdon Area School District - Huntingdon Area Middle School Transition Classroom. The selected candidate will become part of a team including a therapist and in-class behavior coach.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of academic materials based on district curriculum
  • Monitoring of online curriculum
  • Individualized and group instruction
  • Evaluation of student performance
  • Team based student interventions
  • Participate in staff meetings, district meetings and parent communication

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree from a college or university and a valid PA Secondary Teaching Certificate (4-8, 7-12) or 4-8/7-12 Teacher Intern Cert
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive, strong classroom management
